EDMONDSON CHAPEL CHURCH

On February 7, 1906, God birthed the ministry known as The Edmondson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Brentwood, TN. Because of the economic conditions and status quo during the early years of its existence, the Edmondson Chapel Church building was occupied by a Primitive Baptist and Methodist congregation who held their services on alternate Sundays. The former building also housed the Edmondson Chapel School. Founders, George Brooks, George Edmondson, Charles Wisner, Henry Stanfield, Sr., and E.H. Bostock, laid the foundation for generations of believers to allow the work of the Lord to manifest in this Middle TN community. Our former Pastors: Pastor Ike Easley, Pastor Tom H. Easley, Pastor Wesley Turner, Pastor JJ Smith, Pastor James L. Shead, Pastor Will Jordan, Pastor Owens, Pastor Warns, Pastor Barbee and Pastor Reeves are a testimony to the favor of God on our ministry.

In 1987, Pastor Freddie B Carpenter felt the Lord moving Edmondson Chapel to build a new edifice. Under Pastor Carpenter’s leadership Edmondson Chapel grew and several ministries were added to the church. Upon Pastor Carpenter’s resignation, In 1991 Pastor Walter Battle assumed the task of leading this great ministry until the Spring of 1994. Because of their obedience and dedication to God’s work, Edmondson Chapel has a solid foundation that God continues to build upon. All that has happened over the past 100 years has set the path for what the Father is doing today in our ministry. In February 1995, the installation of Rev. Ron W. Parham as the thirteenth Pastor of the Edmondson Chapel Church brought many innovative, pioneering and visionary changes to the spiritual and physical life of this church.

A welcomed addition to the Morning Worship, under Pastor Parham’s leadership, was the time change from the traditional 11:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Bible Study and Educational Ministries were established and our ministry has flourished under the anointing teaching of not only Pastor Parham but the Ministerial Team here at Edmondson Chapel. To complement the Bible Study and Educational Ministries, the Music Ministry has also been enhanced. The Higher Praise Choir was established and the choir has grown from 8 active members to over 45 active members.

Several ministries have also been formed to accommodate our diversity:

  • Women In Unity

  • SOME (Men’s Ministry)

  • Greeters Ministry

  • Kingdom Kids Nursery (KKN)

  • Timothy Ministry

  • Love In Action

  • Enhanced Ministry

  • Couples Ministry

  • Singles Ministry

  • Voice of ECC (Youth Choir)

The VISION Newsletter was established to keep members and visitors abreast of current events. In September of 2002, a vision was filled as the Edmondson Chapel family moved into a larger edifice, a testimony of God’s faithfulness. In October of 2005 Edmondson Chapel relocated to Glencliff High School in pursuit of a major building effort. Worship services were held at Glencliff which allowed Edmondson Chapel to purchase 9.5 acres at 4040 Murfreesboro Pike in Antioch, TN. For our future growth Because of the rapid growth of Edmondson Chapel, our new edifice was not going to be able to house our next level of ministry. We are currently holding worship in the Cumberland Association Of Primitive Baptist 232 Whitsett Rd Nashville, TN. God is really moving in a powerful way. Souls are being saved and lives forever changed. Under Pastor Parham’s leadership, Edmondson Chapel is truly living the vision where we are a place where anybody can find love and acceptance while being equip to “Take the Gospel to the World!”
